The ultimate coast-to-coast challenge. 300km from St Bees on the Irish Sea to Robin Hood's Bay on the North Sea. 300km. Non-stop. One unforgettable journey.
Enter Now — £275The Community Traverse follows the classic Coast to Coast route pioneered by Alfred Wainwright, reimagined as a continuous ultra running event. From the clifftops of St Bees to the slipway at Robin Hood's Bay, runners cross three National Parks — the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, and the North York Moors.
This is not a race against others — it's a race against the cut-offs, against the terrain, and against yourself. Runners must pass through each checkpoint within the time limit to continue. Fully stocked checkpoints provide food, water, and support throughout the continuous route.
The Community Traverse is true to its name — built by the community, for the community. Volunteers from local running clubs, fell rescue teams, and outdoor groups come together to make this event possible.

Coastal cliffs to the western lakes. Through Ennerdale and Borrowdale before climbing into Patterdale.
Over Kidsty Pike and through Shap, leaving the Lakes behind into the Westmorland Dales.
Nine Standards Rigg, Tan Hill, and the wild Pennine watershed into Swaledale.
Rolling farmland through the Vale of York before the climb onto the North York Moors.
The grand finale. Across the high moors, through Glaisdale, and down to dip your feet in the North Sea.
